CORFLO® ANTI-IV ENTERAL FEEDING SYSTEM
FACT SHEET PRODUCT LITERATURE

Intended for neonatal and pediatric critical care patients, the CORFLO® Anti-IV Enteral Feeding System is designed to prevent the accidental, and potentially fatal, administration of enteral feeding into an intravenous (IV) line or parenteral drugs into an enteral feeding tube. The CORFLO Anti-IV Feeding System accomplishes this through a proprietary connection on its feeding tube that is only compatible with oral tip syringes or the CORFLO Anti-IV Enteral Feeding Set. This unique design makes it virtually impossible or luer syringes or connectors into any portion of the system, creating a safeguard against mishaps where IV and enteral components are inadvertently confused.

How It Works

Feeding Tube: Proprietary feeding port with Orange Anti-IV male connector is only compatible with the CORFLO Anti-IV Feeding Set. Y-side port is compatible with all standard oral tip syringes. Feeding Set: Interchangeable ends fit securely with the Anti-IV male connector on the feeding tube and any size oral syringe. Minibore tubing with orange stripe indicates enteral use only.

Why CORFLO Anti-IV

The Need: Enteral feeding and intravenous drug administration are necessary elements in the treatment and stabilization of critically ill neonatal and pediatric patients. In addition, the need for precise control of enteral feedings in neonates presents a unique challenge due to the use of IV equipment for feeding. Standard enteral and IV systems that are similar in design can be equipped with similar components, making it possible for even trained medical professionals to confuse one for the other.

The Problem: Tubing and catheter misconnection errors are a serious, yet under-reported problem in healthcare organizations.

The CORFLO Anti-IV Solution: The CORFLO Anti-IV Feeding System design is only compatible with oral tip syringes or fittings.

*An integrated Anti-IV Enteral Feeding system would be comprised of the CORFLO Anti-IV Feeding Tube and Extension Set along with Oral Syringes for all oral (PO) feedings and medications.
